Happy Eggs

Happy Easter! Back in Chicago to spend time with the family, and my sisters had dyed a bunch of eggs the day before my arrival. However, I knew they were doing that. What I didn’t know is how my youngest sister had meticulously painted on special pictures on each egg, pertaining to each person in the family. Mind you, about 20 people (extended family) were coming over to celebrate later on.
Now, an Polish Easter tradition in my family has always been to take a hard boiled egg and tap it to every one else’s egg — the goal is for your egg’s shell not to crack. It is considered good luck to have tapped everyone’s egg, and yours not to come out cracked (ala Auntie Janice tonight).
Well, back to the great painting of the eggs. Jessie had actually painted every single egg to each person’s personality, hobby or something else.
I thought it was one of the most creative ideas in the world, and she did such a fantastic job — I mean just look at ‘em! Nobody wanted to crack their egg.
Happy Easter, and wishing you good luck in the coming months.

Jesse did a great job! It wasn’t hard to figure out which eggs were yours!
Glad you had a nice celebration together.
love,
Mom
All of the Lucnik girls are so talented. I’m sure glad I am their gramma.
