Do you ever check for free screenings of movies before they come out? It takes a little digging around on the movie websites. So far I’ve been lucky enough to see Pineapple Express and then just this past week, Choke, before the movie was released on the big screen. Choke is a novel by Chuck Palahniuk (author of Fight Club) and I felt like the movie was 95% in tune with the book.
The screening was at the Mayan Landmark Theater off of Broadway. The last time I was in a theater that knocked my socks off was in Europe… the detail in this art-deco-inspired theater makes me want to be an independent movie buff.
If you’re ever in Denver, please try to visit. You can’t go wrong with a serving beer and wine either, right?
